The Klipkop Wildlife Sanctuary is a unique wildlife and environmental conservation initiative situated near Bronkhorstspruit, South Africa. We preserve bankenveld habitat, and provide sanctuary for the life it supports.

Grasslands are the most endangered biome on the planet.

Bankenveld is found in only one place on earth - the interior plateau of South Africa


Bankenveld straddles the North-West, Gauteng and Mpumalanga provinces between 1,500-1,600m altitude.

Its biodiversity is second only to the fynbos of the Cape Floral Kingdom


The vegetation shares characteristics with the high veld grasslands, low veld savannas and flora of the Drakensberg and Kalahari regions.
