Hiking Facilities

When you finish your day hike on Klipkop, there is no need to rush away. You are very welcome to avail yourself of the facilities here to have a swim, enjoy a braai and even stay overnight.

Braai and Pool Facilities

By the time you return from a hike, there is every chance you will have sore feet and a ravenous appetite. We have the perfect solution not 25m from the finish line - pool and braai facilities, with a magnificent view of the Reserve. You do need to plan ahead, and bring the food and beverages you need.

Adjacent to this area is a spacious 'pool house', with its own kitchen and bathroom. Sliding doors from the pool house open onto a deck, from where wildebeeste, zebra and eland can often be seen. It's the perfect spot for a sundowner and a sit-down!

There is no charge to use these facilities.

Accommodation

For those who are definitely in no rush to head back to civilisation, we'd like to recommend you stay overnight. You'll get a goodnight's sleep in our home-style accommodation, and an early start for a hike the next day (or a big sleep in!)

Our guest accommodation is a three-bedroomed house. It hosts a maximum of 10 people.

		This bedroom sleeps 2 people (twin share / 2 x single bed). The dedicated bathroom - with shower, bath and toilet facilities - is directly across the hallway. R220 per night (room rate)
		This bedroom sleeps 2 people (double room). The dedicated bathroom - with shower, bath and toilet facilities - is directly across the hallway. R220 per night (room rate)
		The main bedroom has a dressing room and ensuite bathroom. This room is intended for dormitory accomodation and can easily sleep 6 people. R90 per person per night (bed rate)

The large lounge with comfy couches and an open fireplace can provide the perfect setting for a movie night. A TV, DVD and stereo system can do the rest.

The social area/dining room can be used for a quiet read or a good chat over coffee. Perhaps you'd fancy a group activity?! Cards, jigsaws, dart board and various board games are available.

Meals are available on request! Please let us know when you book your accommodation, if you'd prefer a hearty home-cooked meal, or to self-cater.

Game Drives

If you'd like to go out on the Reserve again, but your legs just won't carry you, may we recommend a game drive?!

Klipkop has over 400 head of game, including all buck indigenous to the area. Our mammal and bird species lists are available for download below.

Game drives are available for 6 people at a time. The cost is R100 per person (minimum charge R300).
